Among the various assisted reproduction treatments, ProCrea offers full support in the egg donation process. This fertilisation technique based on the donation of oocytes by a person outside the couple is the most effective treatment in the field of assisted reproduction. The success rate for each attempt is close to 70%. In the case of multiple attempts, the accumulated pregnancy rate reaches 90% (up to a maximum of four cycles). INDICATIONS FOR ACCESSING OVODONATION
Depletion of the ovarian function
Early physiological menopause
Surgical menopause (removal of the ovaries)
Genetic diseases transmittable to offspring
Repeated failures with other assisted fertilisation techniques
Repeated failures of embryo implantation
1 ACTIVATION OF THE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
Endometrial preparation of the woman to receive the embryos.
The donated oocytes are fertilised either by means of IVF-ET (by putting the ovules in contact with the partner’s or donor’s spermatozoa) or ICSI (where a carefully selected spermatozoon is injected into oocyte);
3 TRANSFER OF THE EMBRYOS
Transfer of the embryos into the receiver’s uterus takes place in an outpatient procedure that does not require anaesthesia or hospitalisation. The number of embryos to be transferred is decided by the doctors in agreement with the couple.
The ovodonation programme is based on a continuous flow of oocyte donors, subjected to all the examinations necessary for avoiding malformations and sexually transmitted diseases. Before the transfer of the embryos into the patient's uterine cavity, the mucosa is prepared with a hormonal treatment and the oocyte is fertilised with the partner's semen. At the initial interview, a semen collection can be made, which will be frozen at ProCrea and subsequently used for the oocyteria fertilisation. For this, abstinence is recommend from 1 to 3 days beforehand.
The cost of a cycle of ovule donation is 8,500 euro which includes the thawing of the oocytes and fertilisation, transferral of 1 or 2 embryos, and pharmaceutical products for the donor. For further information please consult the relative Tariff section.
